Family Faith Every Day at St. Paul’s
“Faith is learned when it is woven seamlessly
into the fabric of daily family life.”
St. Paul’s Christian Church is thrilled to announce our participation in the Family Faith Every Day national cohort! St. Paul’s was selected alongside 16 other congregations from across Christian denominations to participate in this 3-year program with the goal of strengthening faith practices in families with young children. This program is aimed at empowering parents and caregivers to incorporate simple meaningful faith practices into daily life.
Family Faith Every Day Parenting Circle
One of the core components of this program is a parenting circle, helping parents and caregivers implement faith-based practices in the home. The parenting circles will use a custom curriculum based on the Faithful Families series written by Traci Smith. This circle is open to parents and caregivers with at least one child ages 4 years old or younger, or parents who are expecting. St. Paul’s Christian Church celebrates families of all identities and backgrounds, including single, divorced and widowed parents, foster and adoptive parents, parents who are immigrants and refugees, parents who are part of the LGBTQ community, and parents of diverse faith backgrounds.
At St. Paul’s we believe that asking questions, staying curious and practicing wonder are essential to our faith. As part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), St. Paul’s celebrates theological diversity. Many of our church members hold different beliefs on a variety of theological topics and we believe this diversity strengthens our community and honors God. Therefore, the goal of our parenting circle is not to indoctrinate parents or caregivers with the same beliefs about God and faith. Rather, the parenting circle will focus on simple faith practices that each family can incorporate into their daily life based on their family’s unique values and spiritual beliefs.
St. Paul’s Parenting Circle will meet once a month on Sunday afternoons; our first meeting will take place on Sunday, March 2 from 3:30 - 6:00pm. In order to make this monthly gathering as inviting and convenient as possible, we will provide childcare for children ages 4 and younger; if requested, we will also provide activities and supervision for older children. Each gathering will also include a healthy meal for the entire family to encourage families and their kids to spend time in fellowship.
