After 2+ years of dreaming, planning and fundraising, the dream of “St. Paul’s going solar” has come to fruition. On July 25, we dedicated the installed Solar Array Panel and gave thanks to God and all of the individuals who worked to make this dream a reality. Why Invest in Solar? 

The NC Sustainable Energy Association identifies at least 6 ways NC is better off with clean energy:

This data is based on the current proposal from Southern Energy Manager

  • It lowers energy costs;

  • It makes us better stewards of creation; 

  • It’s a fair and just solution to reduce the negative economic, environmental and cultural impacts of fossil-fuel dependence on underserved communities; 

  • It increases energy independence through homegrown resources;

  • It promotes health and wellness; and 

  • It grows the local economy.

Rooftop solar has been identified by Project Drawdown as one of the top 10 solutions to bring us most quickly to a “future point in time when levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere stop climbing and start to steadily decline. This is the point when we begin the process of stopping further climate change and averting potentially catastrophic warming. It is a critical turning point for life on Earth.”
